MERCHANDISER

 

Department : Merchandising Reports to : Head – Merchandising Work Level:

 

 

Main purpose of Job:

 

To work closely with Buyers / buying teams to forecast trends, plan production and deliveries as per schedule.

 

 

Key Accountabilities: (including but not limited to 🙂
 

 

  • Facilitate strong working relationship with Buyers. Manage requests for samples and ensuring all orders are processed as per quality and time-line expectations of the Buyer ;

 

  • It involves the entire gamut from designing & sampling, booking a purchase, production follow-up and co-ordinating deliveries ;

 

  • Analysing the previous season’s sales and reporting on the current season’s lines ;

 

  • Regular interaction with Buyers and Suppliers to ensure deliveries are made on schedule ;

 

  • Identifying production and supply difficulties and dealing with any problems or delays as they arise;

 

  • Identify and develop potential vendors  ;

 

  • Ensure periodic MIS Reports are prepared and submitted ;

 

  • Gather market and competitor information and provide feedback  on future trends to support marketing initiatives & campaigns ;

 

  • Ensure that all supply chain related documentation adhere to internal standards and requirements.

 

 

Education/Qualifications,  Experience, Knowledge/Skills , Behaviours and Other

 

Education/Qualifications

 

Bachelors Degree.

 

Experience

 

2+ years experince in Apparel / Garments industry.

 

Knowledge/Skills

 

  • Commercial acumen and passion for the Garments / Apparels sector.

 

  • Ability to work on own initiative, prioritize work, adhere to deadlines and take day-to-day operational decisions.

 

  • Good written communication and presentation with ability to prepare concise, accurate and focused reports and presentations.

 

  • Negotiating, influencing and networking skills.

 

  • Numeracy and IT skills.
